Blue Hill, Maine

“the charm of its situation, its sparkling bay..."

Adelaide Pearson

Miss Pearson was determined to help bring to Blue Hill the art and cultural opportunities that were available in larger cities. Through her support for the Library, employment opportunities at the Pottery, free art classes and other activities, she was a seminal figure in attracting artists and craftspeople to the area, creating the foundation for Blue Hill's growth as a cultural center after the Second World War.
