The Fisher family provided for most of their food needs with the family farm that came to them as part of the parson's contract with the town.
This orchard map is thought to be one of the earliest complete records of an orchard plan in the country.
In 2010 planting was begun on the property to recreate the orchard following Fisher's plan. Seedlings from heritage stock have been carefully cultivated and are now taking root and bringing the orchard back to life.
