Jonathan Fisher Memorial, Inc.

This exhibit has been developed to introduce some of the many talents that Jonathan Fisher, the first settled Congregational minister in Blue Hill, developed and incorporated into his everyday life and work.

Although his principal occupation was that of a minister, he needed to develop means to supplement his wages and support his family.

His talents as an artist, craftsman, scientist, farmer, surveyor, mathematician and writer were however, far greater than needs or expectations of family support would have called for.

Here we present some of his creations to introduce you to the person beyond the parson a complex and interesting man often referred to as a "Renaissance Man" in tribute to his talents.

Many of these examples of his works are among those on display at the Jonathan Fisher Memorial in Blue Hill and the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine
